What  it's about!

peppergold.png

I started cooking more after leaving a job I loved in the jewellery & watches industry to take care of my family and to extend it. With all the changes in my life I suddenly started to experience anxiety and the kitchen became my space for healing. With lots of free time on my hands I started to research my favourite dishes from my travels, childhood and restaurants.

I was drawn into the kitchen like a magnet every single day.

One evening at a party I was talking about my passion with a friend and she encouraged me to take a leap and follow my dream of sharing my dishes on instagram. The next day I created the Flavours of Love account.

One of my deepest inspirations is my youth, trying to recreate the flavours of our loved ones, and those moments shared through smells and flavours.

As our ancestors get too old to cook or have sadly passed, we are nostalgic in our search for those flavours and tastes. I am hungry as I recreate those exact flavours in the hope of transmitting the traditions to my children and for those memories and flavours to be shared at many family dinners.

I started to notice that my followers were introducing my recipes into their weekly menus.

To be able to inspire and teach others how to combine different flavours brings me so much joy.

After 9 years finally here I am sharing my website with you

as a thank you for all the love you gave me.

An Ode to my Grandmother:

My dearest Safta,

My beloved grandmother, today aged 85, will forever be my Number one inspiration in all aspects of life.

A true hero, a fighter, a carer with the ability to share unconditional love.

As much as I will try to recreate her phenomenal flavours and recipes, I am not sure my hands will ever be able to reproduce the magic she created in her small kitchen but I will never give up trying.

As you probably heard me share before, My Safta (Grandmother) is my true inspiration.

Her signature dishes like, kubbeh and stuffed vegetables (just to name a few)have always been part of her kitchen and I will always remember helping to prepare and tasting together.

Today, I hope to be able to transmit these memories  to my children through her food.

Recently my Daughter Joy has joined me in the kitchen. More likely she loves to bake. From healthy bites to cakes. She can follow a recipe like no other. I love cooking but baking is not my super power as i can't follow any recipe. I like to know the basic rules ,then i follow my tastebuds and my hands. I am enjoying her company in the kitchen and we all devour her sweet bites.
